TEAM STOPTECH EARNS A PAIR OF PODIUMS AND POLESDURING SCCA SPEED WORLD CHALLENGE AT ROAD AMERICA GRAND PRIX PRESENTED BY STOPTECH
Los Angeles (August 2009) - Dino Crescentini, CEO of StopTech driving for GMG Racing, was among those contributing to a strong weekend for Team StopTech at the Road America Grand Prix presented by StopTech, Round 8 of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge. His third place finish in the GT Race joined Charles Espenlaub's top qualifying time and second place finish in the TC class for Tri-Point Motorsports and GMG Racing's pole-position-earning lap in the GT qualifier.
The weekend at the 14-turn, four-mile loop in Wisconsin added four more to Team StopTech’s “Podium or Pole Position” season and brings the total up to 22. Team StopTech, which is itself not an actual race team, consists of the select production based race cars from the Tri-Point Motors ports, GMG Racing and Turner Motorsport teams competing on StopTech performance brakes in the Grand-Am Koni Sports Car Challenge Series and the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Series.
Crescentini, who scored a checkered flag at Watkins Glen earlier in the season, took third in his No. 4 StopTech/GMG Porsche 911 GT3. Espenlaub turned the fastest qualifying lap and made it to the podium for Tri-Point Motorsports in his No. 73 MAZDASPEED/StopTech/ProParts MAZDA6. Sofronas earned his pole-position start in the No. 14 Global Motorsports Group Porsche 911 GT3 sporting the StopTech Trophy Brake System.
