SAINI TAKES CLAIMS THIRD WIN OF THE SEASON FOR TRI-POINT MOTORSPORTS AT MID-OHIO SCCA RACE
Los Angeles (August 2009) - Jason Saini of Tri-Point MotorSports drove to his third SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car win of the season after starting eighth on the grid for Round 7 at Mid-Ohio in his StopTech-equipped Mazda6. The victory extended his overall lead in the World Challenge Touring Car Drivers’ Championship and also put Mazda into the Manufacturers’ Championship lead.
Saini, who also captured the Sunoco Hard Charger for advancing the most positions from start-to-finish, gave credit to his StopTech-equipped vehicle. “Honestly, in all my year's driving, this is the best handling car I’ve ever driven,” noted the 2008 World Challenge Touring Car Rookie of the Year. “It did everything perfectly.”
Saini's teammate, Charles Espenlaub, kicked off the weekend with by earning a pole-position start during the qualifying race. Overall, Tri-Point remains a strong component of Team StopTech's “Podium or Pole Position” 2009 season with this successful SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Round 7. Saini earned a first place finish at Round 3 and Round 6. Charles Espenlaub and Jason Saini both visited the podium at Mosport International Raceway with second and third place finishes during Round 4. Espenlaub again finished second in Round 5 at Watkins Glen.
The next stop will be Round 8 at Road America, which will be presented by StopTech.
