HARMAN MOTIVE SETS REDLINE TIME ATTACK RECORD FOR CLASS AND PISION
AT WILLOW SPRINGS WITH STOPTECH TROPHY BRAKES ON SUBARU STi
Los Angeles (June 3, 2009) – Harman Motive/AQ Motorsports were the overall modified class champions at the Redline Time Attack at Willow Springs International Raceway this weekend with the record-setting performance of their StopTech-equipped 2006 Subaru STi. The vehicle sported StopTech’s new track-only Trophy Brake System.
“The new StopTech Trophy brake system on our Harman Motive/AQ Motorsports Time Attack STI are the best brakes we have ever used,” beamed JC Meynet, who piloted the vehicle to a class and pision record-setting time of 1:26.417 in the Modified Class, AWD pision. “We are achieving sustained 1.2gs of deceleration with consistent feel and excellent balance. Knowing that we have the best brakes available gives us the confidence needed to charge 100% during intense time Attack sessions.”
Stephen Ruiz, the son of StopTech's Director of Engineering, also participates in the Time Attack series, and earned second place in Street AWD pision with the StopTech Mitsubishi EVO X.
StopTech’s Trophy Big Brake Kits, which made their debut this racing season, feature ultra-lightweight racing calipers in four or six-piston configurations providing a 20-percent weight reduction without sacrificing stiffness or performance. The Trophy brake system’s full floating versions of StopTech’s patented AeroRotor/AeroHat two-piece rotors eliminate pad knock-back and increase cooling airflow for consistent performance and pedal feedback under the unique combination of hard cornering and braking found on the track.
The Redline Time Attack Series now moves on to Chicago’s AutoBahn Country Club for Round 3 on June 20 and 21 after a stop at Mosport in New Jersey the prior weekend for an exhibition. More info about the series and event can be found at www.redlinetimeattack.com
