Centric Parts is North America’s leading supplier of aftermarket braking products for traditional automotive, high-performance racing and light- to heavy-duty applications. In 2017, AP Emissions and Centric Parts merged, forming APC and creating a unified brand portfolio combining a heritage of emissions innovation with market-leading brake systems design and manufacturing. Now, Centric Parts/StopTech stand alone as the clear market leader in braking technology for the automotive aftermarket.
Founded in 1927, our roots reach back to the very beginnings of the automotive exhaust system business. In 1990, the Proimos family founded AirTek as a catalytic converter warehouse and Aristo as a niche manufacturer of emission control systems.
Launched CATCO brand and began manufacturing catalytic converters.
Proimos family acquires North American aftermarket division from APPI ("AP").
Centric Parts is founded.
Centric Parts acquires StopTech - a performance brake kit, brake pads, rotors, axle packs, brake lines, brake fluid and calipers company.
Centric Parts acquires Power Slot - first performance brand to distribute a full line of direct-fit replacement slotted brake discs, carried rotors, brake kits and brake pads.
Audax acquires Centric Parts.
AP acquires ANSA - exhaust, mufflers, tips and accessories for cars and trucks as well as Silverline stacks for trucks and sports compact systems for cars.
Centric aquires Qualis Automotive - full line of drums and rotors, chassis and hydraulics.
AP acquires Maremont - full range of mufflers, catalytic converters, performance exhaust pipes and accessory products.
Audax acquires AP Emissions.
AP acquires Eastern Catalytic - range of catalytic converters including ECO, manifold, universal, direct fit, CARB, performance and diesel as well as related pipes and components.
AP Emissions and CATCO merge.
APC Automotive Technologies is formed through the merger of AP Emissions and Centric Parts. Investment made by Harvest Partners and Audax rolls equity ownership.
APC acquires the DuraFit brand for its AP Emissions division. DuraFit is an industry-leading brand of OEM replacement Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) and Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOCs).
Today's APC traces its origin back to 1927, when AP Exhaust Technologies was founded. For over 90 years, the company has provided high-quality mufflers, exhaust pipes, and catalytic converters to our commercial customers and auto service professionals.

Our dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing the best quality parts delivered on-time is unsurpassed. With over 450,000 sq. ft. (42,000 sq.m) of manufacturing area, AP deploys new technologies and state-of-the-art processes. We also have built a vertically-integrated platform that allows us to quickly respond to our customers' frequent and diverse product orders while maintaining strict quality control standards.

In May 2017, Harvest Partners and Audax Private Equity created APC Automotive Technologies, as part of a strategy of proactive targeting of attractive industry sectors and a proven “Buy & Build” approach. Both private equity firms have extensive experience in the automotive aftermarket and will continue to grow APC by acquiring additional undercar aftermarket companies that meet strategic criteria.
